BBQ on top of a mountain with the Chongqing river view.
Visiting Chongqing was both thrilling and disorienting in the best way. The city's dramatic geography—with its steep hills, layered bridges, and buildings stacked into cliffs—made navigation a real challenge. Streets seem to exist on top of other streets, and it wasn't uncommon to exit a building on the 10th floor and find yourself at ground level. But what impressed me most was how the city adapted: the monorail weaving through skyscrapers, cable cars gliding over the Yangtze River, and endless escalators built into the hillsides made getting around an adventure in itself. Chongqing's transportation felt like something out of a sci-fi movie—efficient, unexpected, and uniquely suited to its mountainous terrain.
